Coronavirus

We understand that many of you will have growing concerns about Coronavirus and we would like to reassure you that we are doing our best to reduce any risk during the current threat. The safety of our residents, staff and contractors remains our number one priority.

We are monitoring the situation closely and following all up to date advice as provided by the Government. You can find the latest advice on their website https://www.gov.uk/government/topical-events/coronavirus-covid-19-uk-government-response and we encourage everyone to do the same, where possible.

We are focusing on minimising any risk whilst delivering our usual services to our residents, some of whom are elderly and vulnerable, by taking a number of preventative steps to keep you and others safe from the virus. This means that you will see some changes in the way we and our contractors work.

For the time-being we are having no visitors to our office. Any staff who are vulnerable or showing any symptoms will be asked to stay at home and self-isolate. Whilst there may be less staff in the office, you will still be able to reach us by telephone at all times. If you have any appointments scheduled, you will need to contact the office to cancel these for now. Any post can be dropped off to us, and we ask that you leave this downstairs on the shelf to the right-hand side as you walk in. A member of staff will then collect this.

Any repair jobs that are called through will be dealt with appropriately. If you are showing any symptoms, have been abroad or have come into contact with anyone with coronavirus, your repair may have to be delayed until following the isolation period, where an appointment will be arranged, if safe to do so. Depending on the urgency of this, steps will need to be taken by both resident and contractor to carry this out. This also applies to appointments already made to carry out regular safety checks.

Please be aware that this will also depend on our contractors’ policies and how they intend to proceed with this.

Any visits to your home will also be delayed until further notice, but we will do our best to obtain meter readings etc for you where possible.

If you do not require a visit but are a possible risk, please inform the office so that anyone carrying out works to communal areas can also be notified.

During our closing period (between 5pm and 9am) we ask that jobs are only called through if these are classed as an emergency. If this is not the case, please wait until the next morning to call this through.

If there is no risk, jobs will be sent through to our contractors as usual and we will inform them that it is safe to do so. Whilst contractors are on site, whether visiting you individually or carrying out works to communal areas, we ask that you refrain from any contact with them. Our contractor may ask you if you are happy to go into another room whilst they complete the work.

Finally, we always encourage our customers to contact us if they are having individual difficulties and are impacted by the current situation. If you have any questions, please call us on 01392 421162.

Thank you for your cooperation at this time.

By working together at this difficult time, we can help to keep everyone safe.
