Exeter Relief in Need (Charity No.1002152)
Exeter Relief in Need offers assistance grants (subject to eligibility) to those living within a 15-mile radius of Exeter City Guildhall, living on limited means. Please note that applications for debt, general bills or accommodation costs are not permitted.
Applicants are required to complete an application form giving details of their current situation and finances. As part of the application process we ask applicants to provide the last 3 months’ worth of bank statements for all bank accounts in their name, as well as any other adults living in the household such as spouses, partners or adult children. Applicants are also expected to provide contact details for 2 professional character references.
Please note that due to high demand, applications for flooring are usually limited to one room per household. Grants for flooring are currently suspended (July 2026).
Exeter Advancement in Life (Charity No. 1002151)
Advancement in Life offers assistance for those under the age of 25 and in education, who live within a 15-mile radius of Exeter City Guildhall. University of Exeter students are only eligible if their permanent residence is also in Exeter (i.e. they lived here prior to attending University and do not just live here during term time).
Applicants are required to complete an application form giving details of their current situation and finances. As part of the application process we ask applicants to provide the last 3 months’ worth of bank statements for all bank accounts in their name, as well as any other adults living in the household such as spouses, partners or adult children. Applicants are also expected to provide contact details for 2 professional character references.
Applicable items include textbooks, school uniforms, school equipment such as laptops etc. Grants for help with tuition fees are dependent on various qualifying factors that will be discussed as part of the application process.
